Checklist to Avoid Unexpected Movement Notifications
1. Upgrade to the Latest App / Firmware
Please upgrade the Sense-U app and the firmware to the latest version when you receive the upgrade notification.
2. Snugly Fitting Sleepwear is Essential for Accurate Monitoring
Clip the Sense-U onto snugly fitting sleepwear(diaper/shorts/etc), right next to the belly button. Loose-fitting sleepwear may cause the monitor to lose contact with the baby and sound a false notification.
3. Increase the Activation Period for Shallow Abdominal Movement Patterns
Every child has his own abdominal movement pattern, especially for premature babies. If you still receive weak movement alerts after following the instructions above, your child may have shallower abdominal movement pattern. In this case, you need to increase the Activation Period from the Sense-U Baby App: Setup->Child's Baby Monitor->Manage Notifications->Movement Notification->Activation Period.
4. Always put your Baby to Sleep on his Back and in a Separate Bed
For safety consideration, it is always recommended to put your baby to sleep on his back and in a separate bed. The monitor may detect the movement of any other person sharing a bed with the baby and will incur false readings as long as it detects movement. If baby sleeps on his side or stomach, the Sense-U Baby should be placed off center of the navel and the mattress.
5. Turn off the Sense-U Baby Monitor if not in Use
If not in use for a while, it is recommended to switch off the Movement Notification from the Sense-U Baby app: Setup->Child's Baby Monitor->Movement Notification, or put the Device in Sleep Mode by tapping the Home Button in the App, to save power and avoid false readings.
That's it!
