Most modern routers support dual-band WiFi, meaning they provide both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Sometimes these bands share the same WiFi name (SSID), while other times they appear as separate names, such as “xxx_wifi” and “xxx_wifi_5G.”
Important: All Sense-U devices work only with 2.4GHz WiFi. Please make sure you connect to the correct network.
Check Your Available WiFi Networks
If you see multiple similar WiFi names (e.g., “xxx_wifi” and “xxx_wifi_5G”), select the one without “5G” or “5GHz” in its name.
If your WiFi has only one name or you’re unsure, follow the steps below to confirm the band.
How to Confirm Your WiFi Band
On Android Phones
- Connect your phone to the WiFi network.
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap the connected network for details.
- Look for the frequency band — it will show either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
Note: The exact steps may vary depending on your Android device.
On iPhones
iOS does not show WiFi frequency directly. If possible, check with a computer (see below). Alternatively, install a WiFi Analyzer app to find out the band.
On Windows Computers
- Connect to the WiFi network.
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar and open Properties of the connected network.
- Scroll down to the Network Band section — it will display 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
On MacBook Computers
- Connect to the WiFi network.
- Hold the Option key and click the Wi-Fi icon at the top menu.
- Look for Channel information — the band will be shown in brackets (2.4GHz or 5GHz).
